As a former bookstore manager, I would say YES! Book people will tell you ‘there is something about holding a printed book, print will never die’, to this I say put your money where your mouth is. Based on the shrinking number of book retailers and the sales figures, most people are getting their content digitally. Digital downloads and subscriptions have taken over the publishing business.
Web publishers can increase the amount of content, use higher quality graphics, not to mention include audio and video files. Customer acquisition cost are much less, search engines and social media make it easier to reach the target customers. Most customers are using mobile web or apps to view content, giving them freedom to always have access. The satisfaction of doing something green for the planet doesn’t hurt either.
